MEET MISS INDIAN RODEO QUEEN 2026

Cajaun Cleveland of the Navajo Nation and White Mountain Apache Tribe

Cajaun is Navajo and has ancestral ties to the White Mountain Apache tribe. She resides at Timber Ridge Ranch, in Pinedale, New Mexico. 

 

Cajaun is a rising senior at Navajo Technical University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Diné Culture, Language, and Leadership to become a Navajo Linguistic Professor and Knowledge Keeper.


She is also an accomplished rodeo competitor in Barrel Racing and Goat Tying in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, as well as a versatile professional—freelance model, event coordinator, and community ambassador.


Ms. Cleveland has held tribal titles, including:

  • Miss Indian Miyamura High School

  • Miss Eastern Navajo Teen

  • Miss Navajo Technical University

  • Miss Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial Queen


She is also recognized as the 1st Runner Up of the Indian Junior Rodeo Association Queen 2017 and 1 Runner Up of the Miss Indian Rodeo 2025, as well as a featured model in the 2023 Women of the Navajo Calendar.

Rooted with family, culture, and traditions with strong rodeo leadership. Cajaun’s involvement in rodeo and pageantry has cultivated responsibility, teamwork, and resilience in cultural identity. Her connection to Navajo culture is further deepened through traditional ranching and agricultural experiences.


As Miss Indian Rodeo, she seeks to highlight the cultural significance of rodeo, horses, and Native American traditions, advocating for increased representation of Native athletes in national and International Rodeo Organizations.


Cajaun’s platform promotes tribal heritage through performances and educational initiatives, fostering recognition and leadership within the Native American rodeo community.

 

Fun Fact about Cajaun: She collaborated with Harvard University and Carnegie Mellon University students on her research project of Incorporating Dine Bizaad into a Dataset Format for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
